Louder than Life is organized by a festival production and promotion company named Danny Wimmer Presents. The festival solely focuses on music of Rock and Metal genre. So, he launched the first festival in 2014 at Louisville, Kentucky and it was a success. The company is organizing the event every year since then. 43 metal bands had joined the lineup of the previous Louder than Life festival. Slipknot and Disturbed, Staind, Godsmack, Rob Zombie, A Day To Remember, Ice Cube, Marilyn Manson, Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle, Halestorm, and many more metal bands had enthralled the metalheads during the last festival. Guns N Roses was the one to headline the festival of 2019. Only Metallica has been announced to be in the lineup so far. Rest is yet to be seen. It was founded by famous musician Chadwick Stokes and his then tour manager Sybil Gallagher in 2008. The organization partners with musicians and fans to create change for women through direct service and activism. They have started a campaign named “Here for the Music” campaign. They have partnered with more than 60 venues, artists, and festivals to train more than 1500 music professionals and fans, educate more than 10,000 fans through outreach efforts, and consult on 10 policies via this campaign. They are a regular partner of the Louder than Life music festival.
Things you can and cannot carry:
Thousands of people join this festival to enjoy metal songs. So, the security is tight and there is a restriction about what and how much you can carry with you in the venue. There will be heat and screaming. So, you need water. Keeping that in mind, the security will allow you to carry one factory-sealed bottle of water (20 ounce max). The security won’t stop you from carrying your cell-phones. The security allowed sunscreen that is non-aerosol based, last year. This year the festival will be at night. So, you won’t need them. You can carry binoculars with you. The organizing authority does allow the audience to record the show. So, video cameras or Go Pros, audio recording devices, or professional cameras or cameras with removable lenses will not be allowed. Only small, point-and-shoot digital cameras are allowed in the festival. Do not forget to bring earplugs with you. The organizing authority not only allows it, but also recommends it. There will be loud music everywhere along with the exciting scream of the fans. Decibel problems have been reported to happen in the festival previously. You may go deaf temporarily with all those sounds and there is a high possibility of permanent damage to your hearing ability. The earplugs will help with the noise problem and protect you from of those noises. Don’t worry. The sounds will be high enough that you will still be able to enjoy metal music even with your earplugs on. It can be cold at night. So, you are allowed to carry light blankets and towels with you. The blanket will protect you from cold. Plus it gives a cozy feeling. Towels on the other hand will help you all the sweats you may face in this festival.
You cannot bring Coolers or picnic baskets, outside food or beverages, glass containers, chairs, strollers with you. Laptops or tablets are not allowed here. selfie sticks, lasers or laser pointers, drones, umbrellas, hula hoops or totems, confetti or glow sticks, aerosol cans, whistles or air horns, weapons of any kind, drugs or drug paraphernalia, and fireworks or explosives are considered serious security threat. You are advised not to carry them. Please don’t bring balloons or beach balls with you. You will be there to enjoy a music festival and not a beach party. Pets will not be allowed unless they are documented service animals. The security is so tight that they won’t allow even bags, backpacks, draw-string bags or duffle bags, chains, chain wallets, or spikes, unauthorized vending or advertising and musical instruments of any kind. And the organizing authority does not provide on-site storage for prohibited items. So do not bring the prohibited items with you.
The organizing authority requests the audiences not bring any bags. But, they do allow some bags. Any small purse or hand-held clutch under 4.5” x 6.5”, small or medium sized clear and transparent vinyl, plastic, or PVC bag under 12” x 6” x 12”, re-sealable zip top bag of one gallon under 10” x 12” x 2”, and clear or mesh drawstring bag are allowed in the venue.
